Luray Cavers Reflections

Luray Caverns Reflections This is another image of the Reflective pool, as I like to call it, in Luray Caverns. Again the formations on the bottom are actually reflections from above, but it looks like the grand canyon or something down there on first seeing it.

Luray Caverns Reflective Pool

Luray Cavern Reflective Pool When you first see this, you will think that the formations on the bottom are real. But actually they are a reflection from the top formations. This picture does not do it justice. It was hard to get a picture of the reflections because when the camers flashed, it would wash away the reflection. The water is so still, you wont believe your eyes.

Luray Caverns Image of moss?

Luray Caverns Moss This was the only green found in the whole cavern. It appears to be a moss growing in the rocks. This is at the beginning of the tour.

Luray Caverns Stalagtites

These formations are found all over the Luray Caverns.
I think the hanging ones are stalagtites, while the sitting ones are stalagmites.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Luray Caverns Images Droppings?

These are formed over thousands of years by water seeping through the ground and depositing minerals one on top of the other.
Pretty and cool.

Luray Cavern Formations

These formations take hundreds and thousands of years to be created. In fact they are still forming today and everyday, as water seeps into the ground and forms these stalagtites and stalagmites.

Eerie Luray Cavern Photo, Were the caverns ghosts involved.

This is one of the first pics I tried to take. The whole picture is blurry except for the guy down in the lower left corner. My camera does have face detection, but this is a bit creepy. Let me know what you think in the comment section.

Luray Caverns Entrance Point

This is the entrance to Luray Caverns. Discovered in 1878, this sign marks the original entry point.
You are strictly forbidden to touch anything inside here. It takes about an hour to go through the tour and they provide you with a headset that tells you about each section by number. Really cool.
